Sweet Stuff Slow ® was set up by me, Catherine Moran, in mid-March 2006 to indulge my passion for good ingredients, good food, and real, hands-on cooking.
I also think there is no better time to become involved in the renaissance — or is it revolution? — that is now taking place in the local food scene. Increasingly, we want to know where our food comes from, and how it is made.

I’m based in the Start-up Unit at the Ludlow Food Centre, just north of Ludlow on the A49. This special rural setting means I’m spoiled for choice for wonderful ingredients that I use to create some interesting, and I hope you’ll agree, delicious sweet things.

Because I believe that good food must start with good ingredients, I pay meticulous attention to the provenance of my ingredients, and use:

  • gorgeous, nutty, fresh dairy cream from Bartonsham Farm Dairy in Hereford city
  • fresh, local, seasonal fruit such as
Bramley apple, rhubarb, raspberries and damsons, free from herbicides and pesticides, some of it grown by myself
  • a variety of delicious continental
couverture chocolates that are high in cocoa solids
